Procedure Preps

Most of our colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures are scheduled in our Ambulatory Surgery Center located at 2807-2 Capital Medical Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308 although some procedures may be performed at Capital Regional Medical Center out of medical neccessity.

You will be given detailed instructions for your procedure in advance.  In some cases a staff member may direct you to download one of the prep instruction sheets listed below. These should only be used with the direction of your doctor or a staff member. Please call (850) 841-1166 and select option 3 if you have any questions about your prep.

COLONOSCOPY

In order to allow the physician to examine the entire length of the large intestine (colon) a liquid preparation taken by mouth is required. It is important to take the preparation as directed and notify the physician performing the procedure if you are unable to take it for any reason. If you do not take the liquid preparation the physician will not be able to examine the colon adequately and the procedure will be rescheduled.

The preparation is up to the discretion of the physician performing the procedure not Capital City Surgical Center. Each preparation comes with a set of specific instructions. Please review these instructions at least two days prior to your procedure to make sure you are clear on its use. However, if you have any questions about the prep you were prescribed please contact GI Associates of Tallahassee.
